At Bodegas y Viñedos ARTADI, ARTAZU and EL SEQUÉ we make great wines in three Spanish wine regions: Álava, Navarra and Alicante.
These are lands of genius, with different climates and grape varieties with their own character.
We cultivate 150 hectares of vineyards respecting the expression of the terroir and the natural environment; organic farming. A concept that fills our wines with content, giving them attributes of personality and identifying them with the true origin of each region.
HISTORY AND TRADITION
Artadi, a history linked to the memory and know-how of our ancestors, far removed from the industrial world and based on passion and respect for the vineyard.
1985, Laguardia. A group of winegrowers, men and women from the village with their deep-rooted customs and their sights set on the vineyard and its wines, set up Artadi.
In 1992 the Lacalle y Laorden family took the helm of the project. The obsession for the cultivation and the cult of the vineyard led us to discover expressions capable of drawing the personality of unique wines, wines that reflect their origin. This same conviction led us to continue our work in 1996 in Navarra (Artazu), in 1999 in Alicante (El Sequé) and in 2015 in Guipúzcoa (Izar-Leku).
We respectfully recover the wise experiences of our grandparents.
We keep alive the wine-growing traditions of our ancestors by fighting against the destructive progress that chemistry puts at the exclusive service of industrialisation and disrespectful agricultural management. We try to preserve the inherited way to obtain the enjoyment of a living wine, with respectful feelings and spirituality and integrating nature and the vineyard to our own lives.
