The Los Aljibes Winery is located in the Los Aljibes Estate, in the municipality of Chinchilla de Montearagón, Albacete, an area with the Vino de la Tierra de Castilla designation of origin. The winery building, of typical La Mancha construction, is surrounded by 178 hectares of vineyards, cultivated at an altitude of almost 1,000 metres above sea level. Los Aljibes is a winery focused and designed to create wines of high expression, functional and modern, within an architectural complex of high cultural value.
The soils of the estate are chalky with little organic matter, sandy texture and little depth, and the climate is very harsh and dry, continental type. These extreme conditions, together with the altitude, favour low yields and lengthen the ripening process of the grape varieties adapted to the area, giving great roundness and quality to the wines that are born from them.
The viticulture applied in the vineyards starts from a traditional base with the introduction of the most modern techniques and ecological cultivation systems to guarantee the production of quality grapes, as well as a sustainable balance between the estate and the winery. All this, together with the effort and enthusiasm of our team, ensures the production of wines with their own personality and excellent quality.
