Its founders joined forces to create a winery that would make wine from organically grown vines. In 2014 the singularities of the winery facilitated Lavia's entry into the MGWines Group, to which it currently belongs along with other wineries in Bierzo and the Spanish Levante region.
Bodegas Lavia is located in Venta del Pino, a place of great scenic and winemaking richness where there are vineyards of the Monastrell variety planted at 750 metres above sea level. The winery also owns a small plot of Syrah, which is used to blend its Lavia wine, giving it a fruitier character.
The soils of the Lavia vineyards are made up of clay, silt and gravel. It has a Mediterranean climate with a strong continental influence, as the Bullas D.O. is characterised by a climate that is less warm than the rest of the wine regions in Murcia, a characteristic that helps the wines to acquire their own unique character.
Lavia is a small winery whose DNA has been, since its foundation, organic. The winery was configured to respect the rich natural heritage that surrounds it as much as possible. Its facilities have small capacity tanks (between 5,000 and 10,000 kilos), built in a natural and artisan way.
