The Tamaral Trail
OUR HISTORY
We would have to go back 2,500 years to talk about the history of Ribera del Duero, whose path has gone hand in hand with the vineyard and the region's characteristic grapes, of high value and quality. The product is part of the life, character and culture of the people of the area. And that is the history that has guided Tamaral in its 25 years of life.
The necropolis of the Vacceo site of Pintia, in the municipality of Padilla de Duero-pedanía de Peñafiel, was the place where the first reference to wine in the region was found. Residues of wine, as well as ritual vessels, confirm the presence and consumption of wine in the region more than 2,000 years ago.
At the end of the century, in 1925, the grape harvest was regulated, with the 15th century being the time when wine production and quality began to be controlled thanks to the Ordinances of Castile.
